Low mood and the symptoms of depression often start gradually, building up slowly so that it may take some time before you realise anything is wrong. There are many symptoms and they range in severity with depression generally being more intense and pervasive. Often your work, social or family life may be affected.
You may feel very low, unable to enjoy the things you usually would, be withdrawn and feel stuck in a pattern of negative thinking. Some people lack motivation and energy or find it hard to concentrate and make decisions. You may have symptoms of anger, hopelessness, guilt or irritability and your sleep patterns may be impacted too.
Many of us feel low from time to time but sometimes these feelings are prolonged and can be overwhelming. It can be hard to tackle these feelings alone and that is when a trained mental health professional can help.
How I Help
We will work together to break the cycle of depression, to make you feel like you again. During our sessions together I will help you begin to view and deal with problems differently and support you in making gradual positive changes. Rather than dwelling on problems and negative thoughts, a solution focussed approach helps you to move forward and develop a more positive mindset.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy encourages the flow of beneficial neurotransmitters in the brain that will help you feel happier and cope better with life. ​Your session will incorporate theraupeutic methods that are the most appropriate for you from SFBT, CBT, NLP and mindfulness. These will be supported by hypnosis which can help relieve deeply embedded negative beliefs, reset your sleep patterns and help you to feel more hopeful and positive about the future.
